Another Friday has rolled round and this is what I have found for you.
#1 – Lunar New Year
We are in the year of the fire horse and one of my favourite things about lunar new year is the fantastic designs that come out for the red packets. Here is a nice little round up of them for you.
#2 – Nike ACG
I wouldn’t blame you if you haven’t heard of Nike ACG. For a long time it has been a bit of a secret niche in the streetwear scene, outdoor inspired fashion. Nike have relaunched All Conditions Gear as a standalone high performance function first outdoor brand and it has to be one of my favourite things I have seen in a long time. There is a lot to cover but there are two things in particular that i can’t stop thinking about. Firstly, is the All Conditions Express: an all-orange, heavily branded train at the Milano-Cortino Winter Olympics. There is so much depth and detail in this and has really set a benchmark for any kind of experiential work. The second is the Exhibition of S.P.E.E.D a 100km trail race. 666 laps on a purpose built 150m course inside an art gallery. This is only a couple of parts of a bigger launch including uniforms for team USA at the winter olympics and a really nice campaign by W+K. Nike is doing some serious world building with ACG and I am here for it.
#3 – Xikipedia
Don’t ask me how to pronounce this word, I am not even sure you really can. But if you are tired of the doom scroll with no real gain then xikipedia is for you. Some genius has only gone and made wikipedia into a feed you can doom scroll instead! I think of it like a kid looking through a really big old encyclopaedia, you remember those things yeah?
#4 – CARPENTER BRUT - SPEED OR PERISH
This music video is a wild ride and made without AI. Its gorgeous, its maximalist, its chaotic and it is crafted beautifully even if it’s a lot.
#5 – Butcher Billy
Butcher billy has an iconic illustration style that you might recognise from one of the best shows ever: Stranger Things (yes I’ll fight you on this). He is responsible for the epic poster art and promo stuff for the show and it really is fantastic.
