JB's Friday 5

24102025

Hello Friends,

Yes it’s Friday again.

#1 – Paolo Puck

Paolo Puck's artworks might look like something generated by AI but I assure you it is about as far from that as you can imagine. These incredible artefacts are part of the imaginary realm of Fliffmellington, a world created by the artist and the best kind of strange. I reckon they look a bit like props from a forgotten 60's kids movie. My Favourite piece might have to be the Cornichon Jon Helmet..

#2 – Long Shots

Cutting every second for retention is a thorn in my side when it comes to videos now days, because it works. But sometimes you just want to slow down, enjoy the sights and just experience the stillness a bit longer. These 60 minute videos by Belmond take you to beautiful places and slow you right down.

#3 – Bricks 26

Believe it or not there is something called the brick awards and its not for lego. No, in fact its an architectural award celebrating the potential of the humble building brick. Damn some of these buildings are incredible, and hard to believe that they are, in fact, constructed from bricks.

#4 – The Under Look Project

Have you ever wondered what a chameleon looks like from below? or a toad, or a poodle, or a hedgehog? Well do I have the project for you! It’s called the underlook project and they capture some of the most unique pet photos you will ever see.

#5 – Ambient Swim

For anyone familiar with the lofi hiphop radio beats to relax/study to girl, this one is for you. Adult Swim, the network responsible for some of the best animation out there at the moment, has commissioned this gorgeous collection of ambient animations to put on in the background. I love that Adult Swim does this sort of thing, no one asked for it and yet they continue to put out these works of art.

O.K.

That’s it.
