2023 Retrospective
Hello Friends,
It’s been a year. This is the last Friday 5 of the year and as something a bit different I wanted to share a little retrospective of my favourites from 2023.
#1 – Troy Browne
Troy Browne is my favourite discovery this year. I love his incredible collage motion design aesthetic that I have not seen before. It is fresh, interesting and weird so it ticks all my boxes.
#2 – Carnage ‘Holy Moly’
This is more of a short film than a music video, and my favourite of the year, so much so I shared it twice. This music video is EXCELLENT. I love the look, I love the story, I love the action, I love the song. Amazing. The director, Eoin Glaister, has a great aesthetic and I am really loving a lot of the things that he has made.
#3 – PANDICULATION
Animation will always get a look in. Pan·dic·u·la·tion / pan-ˌdik-yə-ˈlā-shən /n The act of stretching oneself (often accompanied by yawning) An excellent little animated short that got me stretching and learning a new word.
#4 – Rotating Sandwiches
Not often these days do you come across a website that does what it says on the tin.
#5 – Dance the Evil Spirits Away
This is by far my favourite thing I found this year. This short doco got me unexpectedly. It is so beautiful and captivating and surprisingly emotional. I have never seen anything like it before and it shows the importance of a beautiful tradition. Plus awesome costumes and dancing.
And finally I just want to thank you all for reading and supporting me this year. It’s been fun.
O.K.
That’s it.
