JB's Friday 5

17052024

Hello Friends,

yes, it’s Friday once again. And yes, this is what I found for you this week.

#1 – Grab - Summer

It’s not that hot in my opinion. This is a great ad for Grab that is more of a short film than an ad. Clever funny and so well done.

#2 – Stefano Colferai

I have always been a big fan of stop motion in any form, but the work of Stefano Colferai really epitomises why I love it. Check out his playful work here.

#3 – Brutalist Plants

When Plants grow and take over brutalist concrete structures a kind of natural magic takes place. This project by photographer Olivia Broome captures that magic that is reclaiming structures from around the world.

#4 – How Long Should Objects Last?

This is a great question that isn’t asked very often, especially in industrial design. This project delves deep on the subject, questioning how we use an every day object like an umbrella that if (when) breaks, will most likely end up in landfill, and how we can address longevity.

#5 – Bobby Fingers

Bobby Fingers makes dioramas. But that is really only half of it. I haven’t seen a creative piece of story telling like this in a long time. Engaging, inspiring, beautifully crafted, and hilarious. The lengths that this man goes to is down right impressive. Side note: We as a society should make more dioramas.

O.K.

That’s it.
