JB's Friday 5

Hello Friends,

I know summer is over, but hey, you made it to Friday and that is pretty great.

#1 – Tove Lo – Boarderline

I’m a big fan of this music video for Tove Lo’s Boardeline. It has a great little story and for anyone playing at home it has a nice link back to no one dies from love, her last single and my favourite song and clip from last year. I have to shout out to the director Fernando Nogari for his outstanding aesthetic.

#2 – Animation From Ai

Now this is a cool use of AI. Taking a video and turning it into a cartoon has previously been a hugely labour intensive process. Using video as a reference and still having to draw every single frame. But the team at the Corridor Crew have figured out a workflow that cuts out a huge amount of the labour, to make a cartoon from a video. The whole process is fascinating and is a glimpse into the future of entertainment production and it has me excited. Check out their final product here.

#3 – Lexus Design Awards

The winners for the 2023 Lexus design awards have been announced and the winners are pretty incredible. My favourite of the four winners would have to be the Jigsaw puzzles for the visually impaired, but check out all the winners here.

#4 – Bavarian Forest

Trees are beautiful and drone photographer Bernhard Lang captures the incredible autumn colours of the Bavarian Forest National Park in Germany. A particularly beautiful set of trees.

#5 – Poline Colour Pallet Generator

So this one is more for the designers and art directors out there. Poline is not your normal colour pallet generator, instead of your traditional colour theory, it uses something called polar coordinates. However it works, the results speak for themselves and I have yet to generate a bad result.

O.K.

That’s it.
